The invitation

"What's that?" Jack asked as his beautiful girlfriend picked up the envelope and ripped it open.

"Oh cool - it's a party invite from Lucy and Mark," she replied, with the delight plainly written all over her face. "Seems they are having a bash to celebrate Lucy's 20th next weekend. Oh God - it's a vicars and tarts party!"

"A what?"

"Vicars and tarts. It means that I have to go dressed as a man and you, my handsome boyfriend, have to dress as a girl. I can't wait!"

"Don't be daft, I can't go as a girl," replied Jack. "I'm not making myself look a complete twat in a dress and everything."

"What's up, lover? Scared that it will put me off your manly charms? Not a chance - you are safe there."

"Thanks," replied Jack sarcastically. "That's a big reassurance. No, I would look like a total prat."

"So what? All the other guys will look just the same."

"Yeah, I guess, but I have no wish to dress as a girl!"

"Sure about that?" Sally asked with a twinkle in her eye. "I think you would make a really good girl."

"That settles it then. Definitely not!"

"Oh come on - we can't not go to your best mate's birthday party just because you are scared to put a skirt on!"

"I am not scared, I just don't want to, that's all."

"Why?"

"I dunno - it just wouldn't feel right."

"Well I don't mind going as a boy. What's the difference?"

"All going as a boy would mean would be putting a pair of trousers on. Hardly the same thing!"

"Please sweetie? I'd really like to go and I think it would be a whole load of fun. For me?" She fluttered her eyelashes at him and pulled her knee length skirt up to display the tops of her stockings. "I would make it worth your while..."

Jack laughed. "Oh, OK then. Why is it that I can never say no to you?"
