"Come in and sit down, Ruby. I'm sure you have a lot of questions and
we will answer all of them but would you like something to drink?,"my
mother asked as she lead me to the sofa in the living room.

My mother and I sat on the sofa and my "dad" sat on the chair right
across from us and crossed her gorgeous legs, smoothing out her
stockings and skirt.

As I watched the obvious show, she sat and smiled a knowing smile which
kind of scared me. My mother had called me Ruby twice so she obviously
knew all about my transformation. The fact that she didn't bat an eye
when I walked ion the door should have told me that, but exactly how
much did they know?

"I must say, Ruby, I didn't expect you to be as beautiful as you are.
Isn't she just beautiful, Barbara?"

"She's gorgeous, Mildred. A real chip off the old block, as it were."

As I looked from my mother to "Barbara" and back again, it all seemed
like some weird dream. How could I not have known my father was
transgendered. It just didn't seem possible. I knew they were young
when they had me, two curious teenagers aged 16 and 15 my mother being
the elder. So my dad was only 39 now but as Barbara he didn't look a
day over thirty. He made a breathtakingly gorgeous woman.

My mother didn't bother to wait until I asked. She began to tell me
everything.

"Your father knew he was really a woman from the time he was about ten
years old. When we were friends as teenagers we were really girl
friends. We'd play with clothes and make-up and I must say even then I
knew your father would be a beautiful woman. One night we were fooling
around and, as you may have guessed, I got pregnant with you.

"You may recall the first six years of your life was spent living in
the guest house of your dad's parents. Then when they thought we were
old enough to live on our own and raise you by ourselves, they gave us
our own house."
